SUMMER SCHOOL ATTENTION STUDENTS! Are you interested in taking any courses over the summer? If you answered "yes," then stop down in the Guidance Office and pick up a summer school brochure, or speak with your counselor about summer school options!

FIELD TRIPS:

DEPAUL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE VISIT FIELD TRIP Attention Junior and Senior Students! The Guidance & Counseling Department will host a field trip to the DePaul University on Thursday, March 9th. If you would like to attend please stop down in the Guidance Office and pick up a field trip form from Mrs. Pina. All forms must be completed and returned by Thursday, March 2nd. The first 30 students to return a form will be allowed to attend. Seniors that have applied and those in good academic and attendance standing will be given priority to attend the trip. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Pina in the Guidance Office.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE CAREER DAY Attention Junior and Senior Students! Are you interested in pursuing a career in Criminal Justice or Fire Science? Becoming a police officer, firefighter, investigator, or lawyer? If you answered yes, then consider attending the Criminal Justice & Fire Science Career Expo on Friday, March 17. Field trip forms are available in the Counseling Office. The first 30 students to return a form by Wednesday, March 8 will be allowed to attend the trip. If you have questions, please see Ms. Whittaker in the Counseling Office.

SCHOLARSHIPS (listed by application deadline date):

LOMBARD LILAC QUEEN COMPETITION The search begins for the 2017 Lilac Queen and her Court! Young women between 16-21 years of age who are residents of Lombard (including unincorporated Butterfield residents) will be selected on the basis of community and school involvement, speaking ability, personal presentation, as well as poise and grace. A scholarship will be awarded to each of the five members of the Lilac Court. Applications are available in the Guidance Office, Lombard Junior Women's Club website, the Lombard Park District Sunset Knolls facility, Village Hall or the Lombardian. Applications are to be brought to the preliminary judging on Saturday, February 25th. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, 820 S. Finley Road.

ROTARY CLUB OF LOMBARD SCHOLARSHIP This year the Rotary Club of Lombard will be offering 3 scholarships; $1,500 Henderson Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 Rotary Club of Lombard Scholarship(s) and $500 Rotary Vocational Scholarship(s) for Trade and Technical Schools. Students must be a graduating senior from Lombard zip code 60148 and children or grandchildren of Rotary Club of Lombard members are not eligible. Applications and more information are available in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is March 15th.

DUPAGE DISTRICT 88 TEACHERS COUNCIL LOCAL 571 SCHOLARSHIP  The DuPage High School 88 Teachers Council would like to offer two individual $500 scholarships. One will go to a student at Addison Trail and one to a student at Willowbrook. The two students must be in good standing, have a 3.5 GPA, and plan to study education and/or a career in service for the community. These two scholarships are available to graduating seniors who will be enrolling as freshmen in an accredited institution (college, university, or vocational school) for the Fall Term of the 2017-18 academic year. The scholarships will be awarded at the senior recognition ceremony. The application deadline is March 21st.

ORV WILKIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The family of former Willowbrook High School teacher Orv Wilkin is awarding two $1000.00 scholarships to seniors who will be attending an accredited two or four year college or university. Nominations are open to all seniors who have demonstrated the following qualities: An optimistic outlook on life, involvement in extracurricular activities, consistently showing respect for their peers and adults, serving as a friend to those in need. Applications should be returned to Mr. Forcash in the guidance office. The application deadline is Friday, March 24th.

8-in-1 SCHOLARSHIP The 8-in-1 scholarship is now available! That’s right, complete one application and you have the opportunity to win any of the 8 scholarships you meet the criteria for. Specific information about the requirements to each scholarship is listed on the application. Applications can be picked up in the Guidance Office and must be returned to Mr. Forcash. The application deadline is March 25th (by 3:00 p.m.)

WHEATON DRAMA SCHOLARSHIP The Wheaton Drama Scholarship Committee invites all graduating seniors with theatrical involvement to apply to their scholarship. The scholarship applicant’s evaluation is based solely on their application response. For more information on eligibility and for an application, stop down to the Guidance Office. The applications deadline is March 31st.

AMERICANS OF ITALIAN DESCENT OF DUPAGE COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP The Americans of Italian Descent of DuPage County will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors. To be eligible you must be of Italian Heritage, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and already accepted to a two or four year college or university. Children and grandchildren of current members will also be considered for this scholarship award. Applications and more information are available in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is April 3rd.

CLARENDON HILLS BANK SCHOLARSHIP Clarendon Hills Bank recognizes the importance of building future civic and business leaders. In support of this effort, Clarendon Hills Bank has established a scholarship program to assist graduating seniors in continuing their education beyond high school. Students must be a senior, entering a 2 or 4 year college/university, have maintained a 3.0 grade point average, and have financial need. The application Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be returned to Mr. Forcash. The application deadline is April 4th.

KIWANIS CLUB OF LOMBARD SCHOLARSHIP The Kiwanis Club of Lombard will award one or more scholarships in May 2017 to assist high school graduates who have demonstrated exemplary efforts and achievements in scholastic, extra-curricular activities and service to others to attend the college of their choice. Students must live in Lombard to be eligible for this scholarship. Applications and more information is available in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is April 4th.

THE VILLA PARK JUNIOR WOMEN'S CLUB The Villa Park Junior Women’s Club is sponsoring a scholarship program to benefit two female Villa Park high school seniors. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote and reward the involvement of women in a variety of community service activities. Applications and more information are available in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is April 15th.

VILLA PARK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP The Villa Park Chamber of Commerce will be offering several scholarships this year. In order to be eligible, students must be a graduating senior, live in Villa Park, ranked in the top 50% of your class, and be accepted into an accredited 2 year, 4 year or vocational school and plan on attending as a full time student. More information and applications are now available in the Guidance Office. Applications are also available online at www.villaparkchamber.org. The application deadline is April 19th

VILLA PARK WARRIOR SCHOLARSHIP  The Villa Park Warrior scholarship is awarding up to three $500 scholarships to graduating former VPW players or VPW cheerleaders. Students must be qualified to enter his/her school of choice on a full-time basis and must have been a football player or cheerleader for a minimum of three years including their eighth grade year. Applications and more information are available in the Guidance Office. Applicaitons are due April 22nd (by 2:00.)

GREGORY CHARLES KMOCH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP   This year the family of former Willowbrook graduate Greg Kmoch will be offering a scholarship to a Willowbrook senior. Greg was a hard-working student who was involved in Martial Arts, Boxing, Wrestling and/or has or is interested in serving in the United States Marine Corps. The Kmoch family would like to support a Willowbrook senior that shared similar interests of Greg and is in need of money to pursue their post-secondary goals. For more specific criteria and information please stop down to the Guidance Office for an application. The application deadline is April 26th.

WPO SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Attention seniors…The WPO will be awarding $500 scholarships again this year and applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications are due back by Friday, April 28th to Mr. Forcash.
