SUMMER SCHOOL

DISTRICT 88 SUMMER SCHOOL Attention students? Are you interested in taking courses this summer to get ahead and fulfill graduation requirements? If so, pick up a Summer School brochure in the Counseling Office. The deadline to register for summer school courses is Friday, April 21. Questions-see your counselor.

SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION REGISTRATION Attention all students who are interested in taking Driver Education or Behind the Wheel this Summer. Spots are filling up fast but there is still room for you to enroll and take either or both Driver Ed. classroom or Behind the Wheel this Summer. See Mr. Haussmann or Ms. Mucha in the Library for more details and how to sign up.

SUMMER COURSES AND ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES Attention Students! Are you interested in taking some classes over the summer to get ahead or earn college credit? How about taking a STEM class and learning about coding or robotics? If you answered yes then stop down in the Counseling Office and view our various brochures regarding summer programming opportunities. Many programs have April or May deadlines, so stop down and pick up a brochure today!

AP SUMMER PROGRAM Attention students! Are you interested in learning about AP courses, AP Exams, and AP coursework? Would you like a more in-depth understanding pace and expectations in your AP courses? If you answered yes, then consider attending the Advanced Placement Preparation Summer Program June 7, 14, 21, 28 and 30, 8:00am-11:30am. Flyers with registration forms are available in the Counseling Office and on the website. If you have questions, please see your counselor.

GRADUATION

SENIOR DEBT Attention All Seniors: Please make sure all books and materials are returned and all debts and/or fines are paid in full before the week of May 15. This includes books, bookstore and department debt as well as Library books and fines. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Thank you!

SENIOR SURVEY Attention Class of 2017! The Senior Recognition Assembly is right around the corner and we want to make sure the accomplishments of the Class of 2017 are recognized. If you have received any scholarships or grants please click on the survey link (http://tinyurl.com/mxohz3b) that was e-mailed to you and take a couple minutes to fill it out. This form needs to be completed by Friday, May 5th if you want to be recognized in the Senior Awards Booklet. The amount of money you received will not be shared, just the names of the scholarships you received. If you have any questions, please stop down and see Mr. Forcash in the Guidance Office.

COLLEGE

DECISION DAY! Attention Seniors!  May 1st is Decision Day! If you’ve made a decision about your college or post high school plans, stop down to the Guidance Office to get a sticker for our Class of 2017: Making History poster!

HIGHLY SELECTIVE PRESENTATION Attention Students! Are you interested in attending Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, or Stanford University? If you answered yes, then register to attend an Information Session at the Chicago Marriott Oakbrook on Monday, May 15. To register for the event please visit www.exploringcollegeoptions.org. SCHOLARSHIPS (listed by application deadline date):

ABDUL JALAL SCHOLARSHIP The Willowbrook Special Education Department has put together a scholarship to honor former Willowbrook student Abdul Jalal. This scholarship is open to any Willowbrook seniors planning to pursue a degree in education, a degree in special education is preferred. Students must complete a personal statement, provide a letter of recommendation and show involvement within the school or community. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is April 28th.

WPO SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Attention seniors…The WPO will be awarding $500 scholarships again this year and applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications are due back by Friday, April 28th to Mr. Forcash.
